About

After reading this site for a while you’re probably wondering who I am and why I’m talking to you about making money online.

MeI am Nick, a 20 (almost 30…) something year old grad student (graduated!) full time information systems professional working for a small department in a Big 10 university. As a grad student, I worked on a dual MIS/MLS degree and focused on Information Architecture and Information Organization.

As a webtrepreneur I’ve been dabbling in Internet Marketing, SEO, and SEM for the past 3 years and I’ve had varying degrees of success. I feel as though I’m on the right track and started this website to chronicle my work, and also so that I can consciously analyze what is working and what isn’t working for me.

Since starting this site, I’ve spent a lot of time developing strategies and have found that some things worked and some things haven’t worked for me.  The things that have worked: Hostgator web hosting, Godaddy domain name registrar, Ebay Partner Network, Commission Junction, and Linkshare.  Things that worked but I still file in the “didn’t work” category: PPC (spent $400 to make $475…not worth it and too risky for me still), thin affiliate sites, get rich quick schemes, Clickbank.  Things that I may try again: PPC advertising on more robust websites, selling ad space on my blog, and getting to know other bloggers.

On this site you will learn from my mistakes for free.  I’ve learned that a lot of things online are free and usually don’t provide much substance – I hope this is not the case for this website.

So there. You know about me, I don’t know anything about you so feel free to drop me a line via the contact form or leave a comment.  I’d love to hear from you.

Thanks and enjoy the show!

-Nick
