    Free GoDaddy Domain Name

godaddy-logoIf you’re a domain collector, webtrepreneur, blogger, or just about anyone these days, you need a cool domain name.  Today is your lucky day!  Godaddy.com has partnered with Buy.com to offer you a FREE domain name.  All you have to do is make a purchase at Buy.com and select a checkbox to add the free domain to your cart.

I recommend that you jump on this opportunity today.  Domain names are a competitive business and GoDaddy is the best in the bunch offering options for all TLD’s: .com, .net, .org, .us, and even the brand new .me domain.  Chances are that this deal is for a free .com, but still, GoDaddy is awesome.  Get to it and buy something from Buy.com to get your free domain!

Not sure what a domain name is?  Check this out this intro:

    Domain Names

The main purpose of a domain name is to provide symbolic representations, i.e., recognizable names, to mostly numerically addressed Internet resources. This abstraction allows any resource (e.g., website) to be moved to a different physical location in the address topology of the network, globally or locally in an intranet, in effect changing the IP address. This translation from domain names to IP addresses (and vice versa) is accomplished with the global facilities of Domain Name System (DNS).

By allowing the use of unique alphabetical addresses instead of numeric ones, domain names allow Internet users to more easily find and communicate with web sites and any other IP-based communications services. The flexibility of the domain name system allows multiple IP addresses to be assigned to a single domain name, or multiple domain names to be services from a single IP address. This means that one server may have multiple roles (such as hosting multiple independent websites), or that one role can be spread among many servers. One IP address can also be assigned to several servers, as used in anycast networking.

Convinced now?  Get your free domain name today with Buy.com and Godaddy.com!

verizon dslIf you’re like me, you’re always on the prowl for the latest and greatest deals that fly around the Internet.  So, I want to share with you a special deal brought to you courtesy of Verizon.  Verizon is now in the Internet business, and they are wanting to sign you up! Don’t you feel special!?

This is a pretty sweet deal though.  If you’re looking for a new Internet provider, then I say check them out.  This is what they’re offering you:

    • 5 Mbps download/2 Mbps upload speed
    • Modem is included (not free…I guess you get some kind of a rebate. So, essentially free, but I can’t say “free”)
    • $12.99 for first 6 months,$17.99 for last 6 months

So this is how it shakes out: It averages only $15.50 per month for pretty quick DSL Internet service!
But as any good magician, I can’t end on that note.

    Save Money This Shopping Season

Discover CardThis is the time of year where everyone splurges on the ones they love, and sometimes even on the ones they don’t! Case and point, I went to a Best Buy this weekend and in line, I talked to this lady who was buying up a storm for just two of her family members. In hand she had a ton of stuff, and in addition she bought a couple of iPods last minute. All told, she spent $976 (I peeked at the register… :) ). I also noticed that she paid in cash.

My perspective on purchases of any significant size is that you should try to bargain down the price. If I were her, I would have tried to talk to the manager to get some kind of a discount…they most likely would have given her a few bucks off. Secondly, I would not have paid with cash. Why not put it on a credit card with points or cash back? For example, Discover Card gives you 1% or more cash back on items. This purchase along would have earned her almost $10. Additionally, Discover pays out 5% on gas that you buy your car. With the average American spending more than $200 per month, it makes sense to have a Discover card.

    $100 * 12 months = $1200. 5% of $1200 = $60 per year cash back.

It doesn’t make sense to waste money. Go get a Discover Card today and start saving money with every purchase that you make!

In addition to saving 5% on your gasoline purchases, with a Discover Card you get:

    • Up to  20% cashback at top retailers through Discover’s special shopping site (that’s huge!)
    • 0% APR for 6 months
    • $0 Fraud Liability guarantee
    • $0 Annual fee
    • One call no hassle service

Everything you buy you can now get discounted thanks to Discover!  Don’t wait; get a Discover Card today!
